Anyone else ever use these Timley Templates to speed up circuit diagram drawing? Most students that used worksheets instructions and text books were unaware that their teachers did not have perfect handwriting. They were knowledgeable people, but those perfectly drawn resistors, capacitors and and inductors were usually traced from a template like this one. I discovered today that Alvin, Rapidsign, Standardgraph, Schablone, Festo and Berol all still make comparable templates and sets. I was surprised to say the least.
Now that we are doing all our design in AutoCAD or even SketchUp Pro now, these old school templates should be an endangered species. Like editing recordings with a razor and tape, engineers of the future will find these at yard sales and wonder what they were for.
