Now we check everything with a fully automated, computer controlled test system and store the time and date of the test, who was running the test system, the test results, which factory it came from, and a variety of other information inside a tiny chip inside the unit. From the quality of consumer electronics available these days I'd venture that they don't inspect much of anything. If it gets returned... exchange it. If not... then that's attrition. win-win.
