We rarely see radio print ads. But they do make sense. many cities have their own local newspapers, magazines, or weekly papers. They are just as local as local radio. nonetheless radio remains hesitant to buy advertising instead of selling advertising/underwriting. As a result.. we're generally bad at it.
This 89.7 WTMD ad is clever, it's better than most radio ads I've seen. But the logo is so unobtrusive you can see the ad and not realize what it's for. yet it was wisely placed in the demographically appropriate Urbanite Magazine, a local Baltimore weekly; both artsy and intelligent, it's who college radio always hopes to reach
