If you've ever experienced a strong electrical shock it's hard not to feel some vicarious pain watching this. While he clearly zaps himself on purpose sometimes, other times it seems inadvertent. But the earliest electrical experiments mostly consisted of people shocking themselves, their friends, pets and lab assistants for fun. So in a strangely way, this has some historical precedent.
