Sounds of Yesterday

The Sounds Of Yesterday was a radio zine that circulated in the 1980s. It came out three times a year and was based in Midvale, Utah. It's a suburb south of Salt Lake City. Initially the zine and it's publisher were based in Laramie, WY. Another OTR zine named Memories actually noted it's debut.

Individual issues cost $3.00 but a year's subscription cost just $8. That's a savings of $1!  Despite plans to the contrary, publisher Paul Anderson only managed to print 3 issues. Writer Terry Salomonson claimed that there was no 4th issue but here it is. In the introduction, Anderson was already asking the question, how will the OTR hobby fare in the future? In 1985 FM had just overtaken AM in popularity and the question was more potent. Today the question is more of how radio will survive at all.

These are many known researchers in the OTR hobby, some for their works, some for their personalities. But Paul Anderson is a bit of a mystery. Two decades ago he published 4 issues of this zine and he was never heard from again so far as I know.I have scanned and formatted the whole issue for use in OTR research.
