Tofurkey Day

Day off.

No Tofurkey for me thanks. Tofurkey (a portmanteau of tofu and turkey) is faux turkey, a product made of vegetarian gruel. Despite the comedic potential they're not that popular, selling a few million each holiday. But it's worth considering this holiday that if you're not the cook, one can never know what will be on the table when you arrive for supper.

  1. True story -- I took a chiles relleno class at the Santa Fe Cooking School, and one of the women in the class was an owner of the family-owned company that produces Tofurky. I'll take chiles relleno any day.
