MOVIE NIGHT!

This is a Universal International News Reel  about what was then, the worlds most powerful transmitter at 1 million watts. David Sarnoff inaugurated the station with the same teletype he ostensibly used to relay emergency messages about the sinking of the Titanic. It's grandstanding.  You can read the real story here.

In the reel they refer to the VLF (very Low Frequency) radio station as Radio Jim Creek, it's actual calls are NLK and it operates on 24.8 KHz.  It's in Jim Creek, WA near Portland, OR. It's primary function is to relay messages to submerged submarines.
